Dr. Adam Mathews provides supervision for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associates to complete the necessary requirements for full licensure in the state of North Carolina.

Supervision is conducted to assist in practicing counseling in the most effective manner possible, given the supervisee’s choice of counseling theories, approaches, and interventions. The goal of supervision is to facilitate professional development by creating a trusting and safe relationship whereby the supervisee attains knowledge, improves skills, and strengthens professional attitudes and values. Casework will be reviewed as well as the supervisee’s strengths and weaknesses as a clinician. The supervision is conducted individually, in pairs, and in a group supervision setting. Supervisor and supervisee meet together twice per month minimum until completion of the required hours of supervised experience.

Supervision is also offered for LMFT’s completing the required hours to become AAMFT approved supervisors.
