From the moment you are born, you begin to write your story. Each story is unique, and each blank page is waiting for you. There are times we lose control of our story, which can create chaos in our lives.

When this happens, everyone reacts differently. Some individuals develop anxiety, depression, and even anger. Couples could grow apart or even build resentment for one another. No one should feel stuck and just trying to survive.

Hello! I am Sarha, a therapist here at Mathews Counseling, and I am passionate about helping couples and adults rewrite their stories.

Have you ever stepped back, put the pen down, and looked at your story differently? In therapy, we will look at how you see the narrative of your life thus far and help you figure out the pieces you want to keep, change, or get rid of altogether. I will collaborate with you to define the pathway between your current story and your future goals while also helping you get there.

When working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, or family turmoil, I want to stay present with you to identify unhealthy themes. The idea is to voice your feelings and achieve the goals we identify for you.

I also enjoy working with couples dealing with conflict relating to infidelity, lack of connection, and life transitions. I aim to create a safe space of exploration and acceptance, allowing for greater understanding, connection, and intimacy in their relationship.

No matter what chapter you are on, it is essential to make sure you have a safe place to express yourself, feel appreciated, valued, and accepted. Therapy helps provide the space and tools you can utilize to help work through the chaos and disarray. When an individual or couple begins to use the right tools, they will notice an increase in passion for relationships, healing connections, and ultimately, more enjoyment in life.

I am an LMFTA with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. In my spare time, I am passionate about reading, spending time with my family, and volunteering at animal rescues. When I was a child, I wanted to help people and make a difference in the world. I have been a caretaker for children and the elderly for many years. I strive to improve every human being’s quality of life and their level of happiness.

I appreciate how delicate and precious life can be and the importance of living it to its fullest.
