Self-esteem and self-confidence heavily influence how we perceive ourselves as well as the choices and decisions we make. Throughout life’s journey, we witness highs and lows that can impact our self-perception. Highs and lows of self-perception are experienced due to our genetics, people, and life experiences.
While we may be experiencing a season of lows, we may not necessarily know how to transition out of that season.
Hey! My name is Robert Barr, and I am a therapy intern here at Mathews Counseling. I work with children, teens, and adults who are experiencing symptoms of low self-perception. I am passionate about helping you restore your self-esteem and self-confidence!
As we journey through the therapeutic process, I aim to offer new insight and interventions to increase your self-awareness and self-understanding. Together, we will discuss implications of past choices and beliefs, in hopes to grasp understanding, giving new insight to self. By no means will we dwell in the past, but we’re going to utilize the past as a tool to take hold of freedom and assertiveness.
To tell you a little bit about myself, I am a master’s student at North Carolina State University, pursuing a license in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I received my Bachelor of Arts from NC A&T State University with a minor in Marketing.
When I’m away from work and school, I love to play my keyboard. I’ve fallen in love with music as it is a big passion of mine. I also spend a lot of time in the weight room. You’ll probably catch me at your local YMCA. The rest of my free time is spent on either eating lots of candy or buying shoes. I love Nike and Jordan shoes.
Self-perception is vital to your success. You want to go through life with a clean view of yourself while realizing you are in control of what only you can control. I want to help you realize that!
Can’t wait to meet you!
