Rebecca Meyer

Hi! My name is Rebecca Meyer. I am a Licensed Marriage and Therapist Associate, specializing in adults and couples.

  • A difference that I felt was my child has a phenomenal therapist that looks like them with no judgment as I share our experiences and look for assistance and strategies of coping.

  • My therapist broke down all walls and got to the actually issue that drives a lot of my dysfunction. [I feel] a lot better and have handles to process mental battles I face daily. I loved my experience at Mathews Counseling.

  • I'm as whole and authentic as I've ever been in life. Just thanks so very much.

  • I shopped around for therapy for some time and I am SO GLAD I ended up with ya’ll. Your practice is great. Please keep the free coffee. I will leave if you do not have the free coffee. 🙂

  • Therapy was tough, but in a good way. It challenged both my husband and I to think about how each of us interacts in the marriage.

  • Our therapist allowed for us to lead therapy in a way that worked for us.

Do you ever feel like you have trouble connecting to the people around you because you worry about your worth? Or do you often feel like even though you want to smile, you can’t quite get there? Sometimes in our lives we are bogged down by our fears, insecurities, and the pressure we dish out for ourselves. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could get to a place where we could recognize the parts of us that are hard while also being able to enjoy our relationships, learn from our past, and feel confident about the life we’ve chosen to create for ourselves?

I would love to come along side you in your journey towards becoming more connected, bettering your relationships, and feeling like a weight has been lifted from your body.

I conceptualize therapy through an attachment lens. We all come from early experiences that have shaped us into the people we are. These experiences should be acknowledged and understood. I want to help give insight into the barriers that you have created that no longer serve you, while – also creating a safe and trusting environment where you feel understood, and free to explore your emotions. The relationship we create together will be one based on mutual respect and trust. Together we will uncover the strengths you already have and use them to work toward your goals.  I believe that being healthy means having access to all of our emotions. In session I want you to be able to laugh, just as much as you may cry.

I have done a lot of work with teens and adults from diverse backgrounds. I have experience working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment to life transitions. I also have experience working with adoption and issues surrounding those who are struggling with their sexuality.

Therapy is an important process and I would be honored to be who you chose to collaborate with in your efforts to feel fulfilled in the life you are living.

If I sound like I could be a good fit for you, I’d love to work with you. We work hard to make scheduling an appointment simple and straightforward, so the first step into therapy is the easiest.

Currently, I offer morning, afternoon, and evening sessions throughout the week as well as weekend sessions. If you think that we would be a good fit, give me a call at (919) 587-8018 or email or check out mathewscounseling.net for more info, availability, or to book a session.

I look forward to working with you.
