The pressure put on kids to excel at everything they do can feel really heavy. Get good grades. Be involved in extracurricular activities. Maintain a healthy social life. Help out around the house. Anything extra life throws at them could feel like it’s simply too much.
As a parent or guardian, you want to see your child thrive. It can be so difficult to see your kid or teen struggling with their mental health. Maybe it feels like nothing you try is working or you don’t know how to help. Therapy could be the boost of support your child needs.
Hi. My name is Logan Seelman and I’m a therapist here at Mathews Counseling. I am passionate about helping kids and teens discover creative ways to navigate the stressors of their daily lives and the various emotions it can bring up.
While all humans are unique, the therapy approaches that best work for us are unique too. By partnering with my clients, I help them figure out what works best for them. I see the client as the expert of their own experience. Yes, even children and teens! Through incorporating expressive art therapy and play therapy along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution focused techniques, I aim to create a space for exploration and growth for each individual I see.
I work with children and teenagers who may be struggling with anxiety, ADHD, or self-esteem issues. Together we can navigate social interactions, family dynamics or simply identifying and processing tough emotions. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and have experience working with neurodivergent populations, as well as working with parents/guardians directly.
I want to empower my clients by giving them the skills that work for them. By offering a warm and creative environment for clients to be their full selves, I hope to make therapy a little bit easier and maybe even fun.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate. I earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology from The University of North Carolina Wilmington and went on to get my Master’s in Social Work from The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. In my free time I like to paint, read, and go hiking. I love exploring new places with my partner and will never say no to a beach trip!
I would love to partner with you and your child to explore creative ways to navigate their world.
I look forward to working together.
