Kaitlyn Pacelli

There is no written manual regarding how to navigate through the many obstacles of life. Between our experiences, thoughts and emotions, it may feel at times that we cannot see our way through on our own. It takes a significant amount of courage to reach out for a little extra support in your life and I commend you for taking that initial step. As a therapist, I am passionate about providing that extra layer of support to people especially children, adolescents and families. My goal is to help those I work with navigate through barriers and recognize the many strengths that they bring forth to the world. Each individual’s uniqueness, desires, feelings and strengths will be explored more in depth throughout the course of treatment.

Hi! My name is Kaitlyn Pacelli and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate.

My intention is to ensure that each of those I have the privilege to work with feel a sense of belonging and validation. I strive to form positive therapeutic relationships with children, adolescents and families that are based around authenticity and a ‘person-centered’ platform. Together, we will formulate a plan that works for you, and/or your child’s needs. As your therapist, I will utilize a creative hands-on and strength focused approach combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My primary objective is to assist individuals with the development of resiliency, self-esteem, challenging negative thoughts and problem solving skills. Together, we will work together to learn strategies that will be beneficial to your life and mental state. Areas that I specialize in include anxiety, life transitions/stressors, school related issues, divorce, depression, and autism.

To share a little bit about myself, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate in the State of North Carolina. I received my Masters of Social Work from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. Prior to that, I received my Bachelors in Science with a concentration in Mental Health and Wellness. Much of my experience thus far has been working as a school social worker with children, adolescents and their families in a public academic environment. I have had the opportunity to wear many hats in the school setting and work interprofessionally with a variety of school-based staff members.

Outside of being a therapist, I am an (almost) wife to my loving husband and a brand new resident of North Carolina from Connecticut. I enjoy engaging in physical activity such as hiking, yoga, running and trying new fitness classes. I also love to create new memories with loved ones, read a variety of books, watch good movies, travel to different places, try new restaurants and engage in self-care.

I look forward to hearing about your strengths, experiences and thoughts. Together, I am confident that we will work through obstacles, and enhance the quality of your life.

I am excited to start this journey with you!

What our clients are saying about Mathews Counseling therapists

“Therapy was tough, but in a good way. It challenged both my husband and me to think about how each of us interacts in the marriage.”

“After seeing several counselors elsewhere, this was the first time I felt genuinely heard and understood.”

“My husband was worried about the therapist “taking sides”, which doesn’t happen.  It’s a collaborative conversation and we are delving into other issues that were not readily on the surface.”
