Kacie Salamanca

As the seasons come and go, so do the challenges in our life. Sometimes those challenges may seem big. Possibly even too big for you to handle alone. Everyday tasks might become huge obstacles. Maybe you are overwhelmed in your relationships. Perhaps you are wanting a fresh start, but not sure where to begin. I believe that given a safe space and the skills to overcome those challenges, anyone can lean into a fulfilling life. YOU are the author of your own story. The investment in therapy is a great first step toward healing.

Hi! My name is Kacie Salamanca and I am a therapist at Mathews Counseling. My passion is walking alongside you as you take the next steps in your wellness journey as we work together toward restoration. I view therapy as a tool that provides a time and a space to have intentional, impactful and insightful conversations. I believe that therapy is a unique experience based on a relationship of trust and authenticity. I operate from a person-centered approach and incorporate wellness techniques, strength based counseling strategies, cognitive-behavioral techniques and creative interventions. I also incorporate holistic health education for young adults and parents of young children and  specialize in research-backed mindfulness interventions to target a mind-body connection.

I primarily work with children, adolescents, and young adults. I enjoy working with clients who struggle with mental health and wellness concerns including depression, family relationships, anxiety, stress-management, grief, trauma, and coping skills.

I want to help you and your child re-discover the confidence and strength that is already there. By utilizing the techniques and strategies we learn in each session, you will be empowered to take back control of your life. My hope is that you will gain new tools and perspectives that will help you navigate any season of life.

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the State of North Carolina. I graduated in 2020 with my masters degree in School Counseling from George Fox University before getting my licensure in mental health. I have experience working with parents and children, teenagers and individuals. I also have certifications in mindfulness and health coaching, which give me a unique perspective on mental health and allows me to have a broader scope of practice. I also have the theological training to incorporate faith into the counseling session if that would be of interest.

My husband and I moved from Oregon in 2021 and currently live in Wake County. My favorite shows are Abbott Elementary, Expedition Unknown, and always down for The Office re-watch! I love spending time hiking, playing with my dogs, and traveling to new places. Currently on my local travel bucket list is Charleston. I love to read, my favorite genre being fiction and thrillers. You can also find me singing in the local community choir or practicing my Warrior Two at a local yoga studio.

I cannot wait to work alongside you or your child. As we partner together, the possibilities are endless and I am honored to be a part of your healing process. I am currently scheduling new clients and have both in-person and Telehealth appointments available.

If I seem like a good fit for you, give our office a call at 919-587-8018 or request an appointment with me online at mathewscounseling.net.

I look forward to working with you.

What our clients are saying about Mathews Counseling therapists

“Therapy was tough, but in a good way. It challenged both my husband and me to think about how each of us interacts in the marriage.”

“After seeing several counselors elsewhere, this was the first time I felt genuinely heard and understood.”

“My husband was worried about the therapist “taking sides”, which doesn’t happen.  It’s a collaborative conversation and we are delving into other issues that were not readily on the surface.”
