Danielle Oates

Life can be hard and overwhelming, full of unexpected turns, twists, and detours. It can be extremely challenging to navigate through issues such anxiety, depression, and major life changes. These challenges impact our daily life and relationships. But it does not have to stay in that overwhelming place. When the overwhelm happens, we all need a space to explore our thoughts and behaviors. Anxiety and Depression can impact our daily life.

Welcome! My name is Danielle Oates. I’m a therapist here at Mathews Counseling. You are here because you have the courage to start this journey; congratulations! By beginning to find the help you need, you are already making brave steps toward the life you want and deserve. In counseling sessions with me, we work together to find coping skills to decrease symptoms and not only manage the overwhelm but to move through it.

I typically work with adults and adolescents and I am passionate about helping individuals and families to work through the challenges of daily life.

Therapy provides a safe and confidential place to identify and explore feelings, thoughts and behaviors to make life more enjoyable. My approach is to actively engage with you in our sessions and build a trusting and supportive relationship. Ensuring this good connection gives us a solid foundation for change to happen. My goal is to provide you with support fully through the process of  breakthrough and healing, to move you forward in your life and in your personal and professional relationships. In therapy, we will discuss strategies and skills to move you toward your goals and we’ll identify tools to empower and strengthen you.

I am a licensed mental health clinician associate with a mental health counseling degree from Cambridge College in Boston, Massachusetts. I am trained in parent advocacy for parents with children with special needs. I am also trained as domestic violence and sexual assault counselor. I recently received accreditation as a certified Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) therapist.

In my spare time I travel, explore new adventures, and enjoy time with family. I have a huge passion for advocacy and being involved in the community.

I would love to work together to help you reach your place of peace, strengthen empowerment, and personal growth.

What our clients are saying about Mathews Counseling therapists

“Therapy was tough, but in a good way. It challenged both my husband and me to think about how each of us interacts in the marriage.”

“After seeing several counselors elsewhere, this was the first time I felt genuinely heard and understood.”

“My husband was worried about the therapist “taking sides”, which doesn’t happen.  It’s a collaborative conversation and we are delving into other issues that were not readily on the surface.”
