Hi! My name is Amber Diamond and I am a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate.
Sometimes, real superheroes live in the hearts of small children fighting big battles. Being a child or teen in today’s world can be both scary and difficult. Peer pressure, family and home issues and the struggle to find identity can overload every thought, taking every ounce of energy they have. Those with an autism diagnosis may struggle even more trying to find their place in this world.
My goal as a professional counselor is to help your child and family find a place of peace and self-worth through hands on activities and real-life strategies.
Utilizing a holistic approach, I strive to help your family seek joy, in spite of struggle, pysically, mentally, and socially. AS a teacher for seven years in a variety of school settings, I have a strong foundation in behavior modification, informed by my understanding of school structure and regulations. I provide services to children, teens, and families struggling with autism, school related issues, anxiety, depression, and post adoption/foster care transition.
I have a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montreat College. I previously taught elementary and middle school in Illinois and North Carolina.
When I am not counseling, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family as well as my two adorable dogs.
Currently, I offer evening sessions as well as Saturday morning and afternoon sessions. I also offer a free thirty-minute phone consultation. Give me a call or email to see if we are a good fit or check out mathewscounseling.net for more info, availability, or to book a session.
