Alan Nahle

Life is a really long adventure. During the adventure, we can experience so many different things, highs and lows. For those of us experiencing really tough situations in life, it can be difficult to feel the happiness we see others feel and the joy we know we could have in life if we could somehow overcome some of the obstacles we struggle with. I am here to tell you that there are people to help you fight those battles and get you to where you want to be in life.

The battle through anxiety, depression, trauma, and an unhealthy self-image is usually a fight not many people will understand. And sometimes it’s not something you want to talk about to others. It can feel very overwhelming and like nothing you do makes a difference.

Hi, my name is Alan Nahle and I am a therapist at Mathews Counseling. I specialize in helping children, teenagers, and young adults manage and treat their symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, lack of self-esteem, gender dysphoria, and behavioral disturbances.

I use research-backed methods to make sure what we do works to help you achieve the goals you set for yourself or your child. I know that every person I work with is a unique individual, which means that I do not use the same approach with every person. Nobody knows you as well as you. Nobody knows your child as well as you do. and I will make sure to give you the best approach and strategy I can based on your journey through life so far and the goals you want to achieve.

I want to help you or your child find their confidence and happiness through deep understanding, connection, and approaches tailored in a way that fits your life and ability. I know we can help you achieve things that might seem impossible right now. If there is a chance working together might help you or your child, I want to make the most out of it and encourage you to take that chance with me for a rewarding experience and higher quality of life.

As you begin utilizing the techniques and strategies we will work on in sessions, you will find the power to confidently apply them to your struggles with anxiety, depression, self-image, and behavioral disturbances. Imagine if the struggles you have been going through could be much more manageable. If we could live in a world where those struggles are not as powerful as you are and you were able to be happy, worry less, and finally enjoy life freely, would you choose to live in that world? I want to help you make that a reality.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. I have a Master of Social Work degree from Bowling Green State University. I have past experience working in a behavioral school helping students learn to manage their behaviors and running daily groups that helped them learn emotional mindfulness and positive thinking techniques.

In life, I like to be very friendly and as approachable as possible. I love spending time with my wife and our dog (Yorkie in breed but Rottweiler in barking power). I also enjoy going to the beach, walking through a nice park, and playing sports such as basketball, soccer, and football.

I am never going to be judgmental with you and I am hoping once you meet me you will feel comfortable and confident that seeing me was the right decision for you. I will advocate for you relentlessly and will do everything I can to help you. You don’t have to do it alone.

You can schedule an appointment with me online at mathewscounseling.net or by calling the office at 919-587-8018.

I’ll see you soon.

Alan is currently scheduling new clients and has availability Monday through Friday with evening appointments available. He is scheduling online appointments.

What our clients are saying about Mathews Counseling therapists

“Therapy was tough, but in a good way. It challenged both my husband and me to think about how each of us interacts in the marriage.”

“After seeing several counselors elsewhere, this was the first time I felt genuinely heard and understood.”

“My husband was worried about the therapist “taking sides”, which doesn’t happen.  It’s a collaborative conversation and we are delving into other issues that were not readily on the surface.”
