Adaria Warner
Hi! I am Adaria, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from North Carolina State University and my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University. I’m currently finishing my PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University.
When you are coming to therapy, you can often feel stuck and life can feel out of control. You are wanting to overcome whatever is standing in your way and regain power over your life. You may be feeling discouraged or defeated or unsure of where to go and who to turn to for help.
Feeling discouraged, stuck, or powerless can create a lot of tension in your personal life, your relationships, your work. It can also affect your ability to function on a day to day basis. Personally, I’ve felt the same way before. I can attest first hand to the power of therapy and its ability to be effective. I became a therapist because I believe in the power of therapy to help you overcome the challenges you are facing.
I love when I see my clients changing in therapy as they become more confident in themselves, more connected in their relationships, and achieving the goals they have set for themselves.
The key to effective therapy begins with a strong bond between therapist and client, based on trust and acceptance. I know each and every client is unique and has different needs, therefore I utilize different approaches based on what works for you, including emotion-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Whatever the issue may be, I will provide you with tools and strategies to achieve your goals.
My specialties include anxiety, depression, stress management, and couples therapy. In couples therapy, I incorporate Gottman methodology, a scientifically based method that helps couples break through barriers to achieve greater understanding, connection, and intimacy in their relationship.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family which includes my two fur babies, Mason and Mia.
Currently, I offer morning, afternoon, and evening sessions Wednesday through Friday. If you think that we would be a good fit, give me a call at (919) 587-8018 or email or check out mathewscounseling.net for more info, availability, or to book a session.
I look forward to working with you.
