Why is it that sometimes being present in your own life can be so difficult? Between constantly thinking about the future and feeling anxious about it, to continuously thinking about past events and how we wish we could change certain things. It sometimes feels impossible to just be present and focus on what is currently happening.
But constantly letting the anxiety and fear of what may happen or reliving the past can be harmful to you and your healing process. This is because part of healing is about being able to come back to the present moment that you are a part of.
In this week’s Therapy Quick Hits, Dr. Adam Mathews discusses the importance of being present and how it can help you live your life to the fullest. Additionally, Dr. Mathews shares three different techniques that can be used to bring yourself back to the present moment when you begin to feel that anxiety and stress creep back in.
We challenge everyone to watch this video and to implement the practices that Dr. Mathews discusses to help you start living your life in the present!
